The Emley Brass Band will be celebrating their 150th year (delayed by 2 years due to the pandemic, so we are 152, now) by holding a concert outside the Emley Church on Sunday 11th September 2022. There will be stalls and activities from 1pm and the concert will start at 2pm.
It is a free event and will showcase fun and interesting music commemorating the 150 years of the band. Both the band and the church are keen that we hold the concert, despite the sad news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Out of respect we will be starting our programme with the hymn Abide With Me and will be ending with the National Anthem, God Save the King. We will also be featuring a new commission by Andrew Baker about the historic collapse of the mast and some past players will be joining us for some massed band pieces.
If the weather is good this will be an outdoor event so, please bring your deck chair and a picnic and enjoy the show. We look forward to seeing you.
